Returning home with the Prodigal Son: a retreat with Henri Nouwen

Henri Nouwen’s book The Return of the Prodigal Son, which was published in 1992, has become an international bestseller and sold more than one million copies. It was the year Henri Nouwen turned sixty. He discovered the renowned painting of the Prodigal Son by Rembrandt in 1983 at La Ferme de L’Arche when he spent a sabbatical time in Trosly.

Our retreat will look back into Henri’s story through the lens of this special painting and how it changed his life and impacted on his spiritual journey. What are the lessons and inspiration we can draw from this book which is a spiritual classic today?
